Job Description
We are seeking motivated, people-friendly individuals to join our grassroots team as canvassers/petitioners for Evette Zayas, candidate for New York City Council. In this role, you will go door-to-door in designated neighborhoods to collect petition signatures to help get Evette Zayas on the ballot.
Responsibilities:
• Go door-to-door in District 8, NYC neighborhoods to engage residents and collect valid petition signatures
• Clearly explain the purpose of the petition and answer basic questions about the campaign
• Accurately complete petition forms and follow all campaign procedures
• Report daily progress and return completed petitions on time
Requirements:
• Must be a registered Democrat and eligible voter in New York City
• Comfortable walking outdoors for several hours and speaking with strangers
• Reliable, punctual, and respectful in all interactions
• Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Previous canvassing, petitioning, or campaign experience a plus but not required
Compensation:
• $20 per hour
• Approximately 18 hours total (schedule flexible but preferred working hours of 5pm to 9pm, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
