Overview:
WiredPeople seeks an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to support the financial management of multiple projects. The CPA will play a critical role in cash flow analysis, identifying budget shortfalls, and providing accurate short-term and long-term financial projections. This position will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial integrity and optimize resource allocation. WiredPeople's vision for the CPA role is to operate in a hybrid structure, with more time operating remote, but consistent onsite collaboration with supporting teams in Tallahassee, Florida.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive cash flow analyses to support day-to-day financial operations and strategic planning.
Monitor budget performance and analyze variances, identifying potential shortfalls and recommending corrective measures.
Develop detailed short-term and long-term financial forecasts to assist in decision-making and resource planning.
Collaborate with department heads to develop, adjust, and monitor budgetary needs and funding requests.
Prepare and present financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Evaluate and strengthen internal financial controls, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Advise on financial risk management and opportunities to enhance financial stability.
Provide support during audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards.
Active CPA license required.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in public sector accounting, preferably within large government agencies.
Proven experience in budget management, cash flow analysis, and financial forecasting.
Strong understanding of GAAP, GASB, and public sector financial regulations; familiarity with State of Florida accounting systems is preferred.
Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience working with large budgets in a healthcare or public health setting.
Familiarity with state and federal funding mechanisms and grant management.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
