Description

We are seeking a dedicated professional to educate patients on evidence-based diabetes self-management as well as non-diabetes nutrition guideline in both individual and group settings. This role involves using culturally relevant and age-appropriate approaches to ensure effective learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Education: Provide comprehensive education on diabetes self-management and nutrition, tailored to individual and group needs

  • Needs Assessment: Evaluate the needs of patients and their families, develop educational plans, implement these plans, and continuously assess and revise them as necessary

  • Resource Role: Serve as a valuable resource for patients, the community, and healthcare professionals within and outside the Center

  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with care team members to ensure ongoing patient care and support

  • Diabetes Technology: Provide education, training, and support related to diabetes technologies

  • Continuing Education: Plan and conduct continuing education programs on diabetes and general nutrition for allied professionals and the general public

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics

  • Upon hire:

  • Washington Dietitian Certification --or--

  • Washington Nutritionist Certification

  • Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian - Commission on Dietetic Registration

  • Within 1 year of hire Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)

  • 4 years Nutrition experience, preferably one year in ambulatory care setting or community health

  • 1,000 hours of diabetes education experience in a variety of settings

  • Experience and comfort with teaching and public speaking

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics

Pay Range: $41.81 - $64.91

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
