Position Summary:

The Center for Educational Innovation, a national not-for-profit organization, seeks an innovative Esports Coordinator to lead and develop our Esports program at schools. You will promote gaming as an educational tool, organize events, foster skill development and teamwork, and integrate gaming into the curriculum. Reporting to the Director of Esports, you will support an impactful and growing industry, encouraging student growth in a positive gaming environment.

Esports Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing the esports program to align with the educational company's mission and goals. This includes determining which esports titles to focus on, establishing rules and guidelines for participation, and planning events and competitions.
  • Organizing and coordinating esports events, tournaments, and leagues. This could involve both online and offline events, depending on the resources available and the scope of the program.
  • Recruiting and training student participants and team members for the esports program. This might include conducting tryouts, providing coaching and mentoring, and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Collaborating with schools and educational institutions to promote the esports program and create opportunities for students to engage in competitive gaming.
  • Creating visual content using various elements like images, colors, and layout for videos, power points presentations and flyers.
  • Promoting the esports program within the organization and to the wider community. This involves using various marketing strategies to attract participants and sponsors.
  • Keeping track of the program's progress and success metrics. Regularly evaluating the program's effectiveness and making data-driven decisions to improve its impact.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with potential sponsors and partners to secure financial support or in-kind contributions for the esports program.
  • Creating a strong esports community within the organization by fostering communication, teamwork, and sportsmanship among participants.
  • Ensuring that the esports program operates in accordance with relevant regulations and safety guidelines. This includes addressing issues related to player behavior, cyberbullying, and online safety.
  • Overseeing the setup, maintenance, and upgrade of gaming equipment and technology necessary for the esports program.
  • Exploring ways to integrate esports and gaming activities into the educational curriculum, using them as tools for learning and skill development.

Esports Coordinator Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience preferred not required
  • Strong passion for Esports and gaming.
  • Proven experience in organizing and managing Esports events or tournaments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of various esports titles and gaming platforms.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and foster a positive team environment.
  • Understanding of educational principles and the use of gaming as a learning tool

Compensation / Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $57.14 / hour
  • Paid Time Off
  • 7 days Save and Sick leave per year

CEI offers a competitive salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salaries are determined using an equitable compensation scale that considers years of experience and levels of education attained.

Job Type

  • Hybrid, with site-based visits to schools and in-person meetings at CEI's head office
