Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Esports Program Teacher/Coach to lead and facilitate our growing esports program. This role involves teaching students the fundamentals of esports, developing their competitive gaming skills, and guiding them in areas such as teamwork, strategic thinking, and content creation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the gaming and esports industry, with the ability to inspire students and cultivate both personal and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Esports Curriculum:
  • Teach students the fundamentals of competitive gaming across various game genres (e.g., FPS, MOBA, battle royale).
  • Educate students about different roles in the esports ecosystem, including pro gamers, coaches, streamers, and analysts.
  • Help students develop essential skills such as game mechanics, strategic thinking, and team coordination.
  • Game and Strategy Instruction:
  • Teach game-specific strategies and in-game mechanics to improve students gameplay.
  • Provide individual coaching and feedback to help students refine their skills, including aiming, movement, and decision-making.
  • Lead classroom discussions and exercises that build critical thinking and problem-solving in gaming scenarios.
  • Team Dynamics and Communication:
  • Organize team-building activities that foster effective communication and collaboration.
  • Teach students how to perform under pressure in competitive settings and adapt strategies in real-time during matches.
  • Help students understand and embrace different roles within a team, ensuring well-rounded gameplay and cooperation.
  • Tournament Preparation and Management:
  • Prepare students for local, regional, or national esports competitions, including scrimmages, practice routines, and mental readiness.
  • Teach students how to analyze gameplay, review replays, and optimize their performance.
  • Organize in-house competitions or exhibitions to provide students with live tournament experience.
  • Content Creation and Streaming:
  • Introduce students to the basics of streaming, including setting up hardware, software, and best practices for audience engagement.
  • Guide students in creating content for gaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube, focusing on building personal brands and monetization strategies.
  • Career Guidance:
  • Educate students on potential career paths in the esports industry (e.g., pro player, shoutcaster, analyst, event planner).
  • Assist students in understanding the business side of esports, including sponsorships and networking opportunities.
  • Program Development and Innovation:
  • Stay current on industry trends, new game releases, and developments in esports to ensure the program remains cutting-edge.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to continually improve the curriculum and expand the program offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Proven experience in esports, either as a competitive player, coach, or related role.
  • Familiarity with a variety of esports titles, genres, and game mechanics.
  • Experience in coaching or teaching esports is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of the esports ecosystem, including professional gaming, streaming, and tournament formats.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and guide students.
  • Ability to work with diverse skill levels, from beginners to competitive players.
  • Experience with streaming platforms, content creation tools, and Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) is desirable.
  • Education:
  • Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., game design, education, sports management) is preferred but not required.
  • Esports coaching certifications are a plus.
