$140 PER DIEM AVAILABLE FOR RESIDENCY 80+ MILES FROM JOBSITE

NSC has an urgent need for structural flux core steel welders for shipbuilding production welding in Sturgeon Bay, WI

Job description

• Use a wide range of welding filler metals and welding processes to perform structural welds in all phases of ship construction.
• Use Flux core (FCAW) welding process and demonstrate ability to pass hands-on test including
• Weld all positions using both manual and mechanized processes and welds are required to satisfy all nondestructive test requirements (visual inspection).
• Perform these functions in environments of extreme heights, confined spaces, and various weather conditions within the shipyard environment.
• Perform troubleshooting of minor welding equipment problems

Qualifications:

• You will be tested on your ability to weld a 2G (horizontal), 3G (vertical), and 4G (overhead) with the FCAW (Fluxcore) welding process using .045 wire.
• All 3 tests will be done on a 3/8” plate V groove with a steel backing strip.
• You will be responsible for knowing how to load welding wire into the machine and basic safety knowledge of using a grinder.
• All completed tests will be inspected visually, and each test will have 1 face and 1 root bend.
