This position will provide a wide variety of HR services related to staffing and recruitment and administrative support on other HR related activities to assigned areas within Division of Personnel Management's Region 1 which consists of the Department of Transportation, Public Service Commission, Department of Financial Institutions, Department of Safety and Professional Services, the Higher Education Aids Board and the Department of Administration (along with its attached boards, agencies and commissions).
Our HR team provides timely, consistent, strategic, and friendly HR services to our customers. Our Recruitment and Staffing team is responsible for providing technical assistance to employees, management and applicants on the recruitment and staffing for all Region 1 vacancies. The HR Assistant plays a critical role on our Recruitment and Staffing teams, ensuring that the hiring processes flow smoothly, reviewing and verifying transaction related data before completing entry into our HRIS system, and providing excellent customer service to applicants and hiring managers throughout the recruitment lifecycle. Our HR Assistants work closely with HR Specialists to support their assigned departments and divisions.

This position will be hired at the HR Assistant or HR Assistant-Advanced level depending on qualifications.
The HR Assistant (schedue-range 81-05) and HR Assistant-Adv (schedule-range 81-04) has an annual salary of $55,328-$79,144, depending on qualifications and level of the position, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.
Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process. For permanent positions that allow remote work flexibility, it is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because positions may need to report to office locations in Wisconsin on short notice.
