Payroll Specialist (Contract-to-Permanent) – Nonprofit Organization
CV Resources is partnering with a dynamic nonprofit organization to identify a Payroll Specialist with Paycom experience for a contract-to-permanent hire opportunity in South Seattle. This role will be essential in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for approximately 130 employees on a biweekly schedule, while also supporting the organization’s mission through efficient financial operations.
Position Overview:
The Payroll Specialist will manage all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational policies, while providing exceptional service to employees. The ideal candidate will have experience processing payroll in a nonprofit environment, with expertise in Paycom, and a strong attention to detail. This is an onsite position located in South Seattle, WA.
Key Responsibilities:
Process biweekly payroll for approximately 130 employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Utilize Paycom to manage payroll processing, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates or deductions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and benefits deductions.
Maintain and update employee records in Paycom, including time off requests, benefits enrollment, and tax information.
Reconcile payroll reports, reviewing for discrepancies and addressing any issues in a timely manner.
Prepare and process payroll-related journal entries.
Support the Finance team with payroll-related tasks, including budget forecasting and preparing payroll reports.
Assist employees with payroll inquiries, providing clear communication and resolving any issues.
Ensure compliance with nonprofit-specific payroll regulations and policies.
Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations to maintain compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 1 year using Paycom.
Experience with nonprofit payroll processing is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of payroll laws, including tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both employees and management.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
